In north-central Mississippi, Holly Springs National Forest has small lakes in upland forests and unique bottomlands. Chewalla and Puskus recreation areas surround the namesake lakes and have boat launches.
Leash Laws: Most parks require dogs to be on a leash in some or all areas, however, some parks allow dogs off leash in certain locations, please consult the parks website before going off leash, Thank you!

Should I be concerned about the dogman prowling around?
Probably. It’s sort of close to a hotspot. Rangers will laugh at you and say there is no such thing. Don’t go alone and if a rangers says you can conceal carry, pack a large enough caliber to back down a rabid mammoth preferably using fluted solid copper(Underwood Ammo)or cast silver flatnose hardcast (minuteman Ammunition) makes those. This is no joke. A former paranormal researcher here.
