Wildlife is abundant throughout the entire state. Deer, wild turkey, bobwhite quail, raccoon, opossum, squirrel, and armadillio can be spotted. Migratory waterfowl can be seen in great numbers. Along scenic routes, visitors have extraordinary access to multitudes of self-guided interpretive trails, campgrounds, rivers, streams, lakes, ancient Indian burial mounds, historic markers, natural and cultural exhibits and agricultural lands.
